This position is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and technical oversight of Cytology Services, including quality control, quality assurance and current cytology requirements of certifying, licensing and accrediting agencies. This position is responsible for GYN cytology service for all of IHC Laboratory Services, and non-gyn cytology for the Urban Central Region.
This position is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and technical oversight of Cytology Services, including quality control, quality assurance and current cytology requirements of certifying, licensing and accrediting agencies. Qualifications
Requires at least a Bachelors Degree and a recognized certification as a Cytotechnologist.
Required registry with The American Society of Clinical Pathologists or The International Academy of Cytology or equivalent.
Must have at least five years of full time (2,080 hours/year) experience as a cytotechnologist within the preceding ten years.
The incumbent must posses a working knowledge of the scientific disciplines in cytology.
He/she should have experience in personnel management, financial management and be knowledgeable of compliance requirements from cytology regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Exemplary oral and written communication skills, ability to work under pressure and work over time, take call, and possess sufficient knowledge, training and experience to identify problems in the specific processes under review.
