The Health Information Services Manager is responsible for providing an efficient and effective system for the compilation, maintenance, retrieval and control of medical record information. Maintains the quality of the medical records in accordance with prescribed standards and guidelines set forth by regulatory agencies. Provides data as necessary and requested to meet medical and legal needs. Coordinates activities to assist Intermountain Homecare in the accuracy of coding. Ensures that the day to day operational and managerial needs of the department are fulfilled. Incumbent is responsible and accountable for providing leadership, management, direction, fiscal controls and integration of all departmental operations. Trains and acts as an expert resource to outlying Homecare offices relative to all medical record information.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a business related field or 5 years equivalent related experience required.
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification required.
Demonstrated management and interpersonal communication skills.
Two years supervisory experience.
PREFERRED:
Previous experience in a Medical Records Department.
